The Artists:
K503 is a solo project from the bowels of Singapore. Dabbling in extreme electronic genres such as Death Industrial, Cut up noise, Power Electronics and HNW,K503 is the purveyor of "Bangkai Electronics", bangkai meaning rotting in his native malay language. He has released releases from niche labels around the world that are in line with his vision, notably Karma Detonation Tapes (Taiwan), Mouhoi (Hong Kong) and Deepthroat Records (Italy).
Evening Chants is a contemporary electronic music label presenting strange and unknown musical explorations. Founded in 2018, the label curates an eclectic range of ambient, experimental, and avant-garde sounds from artists globally - Meitei (JP), Softman (UK), Nicolas Snyder (US), Samutek (PL) and more.
Electronic music visionary HZQ redefines sound boundaries with his genre-bending style. Heavy bass,Percussive techno and UK grime merge with Latin-inspired rhythms, creating an immersive experience.
Butoh artist XUE is the founder and facilitator of the ‘Singapore Butoh Collective’, a young community initiative committed to the cultivation and sustained longevity of butoh culture in Singapore. As a Butoh dancer, Xue has been featured in The Online New York Butoh Institute Festival (2020) and The Online Queer Butoh Festival (2021). In 2022, they performed their work ‘Shadowbloom’ live in New York City at The Brick Theater in Brooklyn with musical collaborator Mervin Wong, presented by Vangeline Theater/New York Butoh Institute. They have also danced Butoh in Indonesia as a featured artist in Solo Butoh #3 (Surakarta), ARTJOG STAGE (Yogyakarta) with Gamelan group ‘Saron Groove’, ‘Cermin Air’, a butoh production choreographed by Emiko Agatsuma at Movement Lab and Jogja Noise Bombing Festival in collaboration with Sam Kurugu and butoh dancer Agatha Socool. Most recently, they completed an 11-hour durational butoh piece at the Singapore ArtScience museum titled ‘the centre trembles’. XUE is currently a student of butoh under the guidance of Vangeline (NYC, Vangeline Theater/New York Butoh Institute) and Emiko Agatsuma (JP, AGAXART) and an associate artist at Dance Nucleus.
