SINGAPORE ART WEEK 2023: A SERIES OF SERIOUS PARTIES

A SERIES OF SERIOUS PARTIES is an interactive exhibition and performance set in a void deck; seamlessly integrating art into a shared living space.

The experience explores ideas of music appreciation and exploration, interactive sound design & light installations, childhood games re-imagined, as well as interactive video art, all focused on this idea of what it means to “play”.

Interactive artworks such as light reactive hopscotch, sound reactive plants, and so much more.

Live music from DJs, sound artists, musicians, paired with live lighting, and visuals everyday.

Free workshops ranging from movement classes, storytelling classes, language classes, and painting classes every day suitable for the young, old, and every one in between.

Held from the 6th to the 15th of January 2023, under a void deck at Ang Mo Kio, this installation was a part of Singapore Art Week 2023.

HIGHLIGHTS

Our aim is to connect the Singaporean community with art in Singapore, paired with a deeper appreciation of our void deck spaces and the games we used to play. We hope that this will allow people a brief moment of respite, inspire young minds to re-look and reinvent childhood games, and allow the space to explore creativity in a lighthearted setting.

Aside from the many programs and performances, we also engaged and had many wonderful conversations with the community.
