From 8 to 10 August, we ran Making Waves at KidsSTOP, a three-day ocean festival built around marine science, Singapore's local marine biodiversity, and our maritime heritage. The festival ran across daily sessions, welcoming families throughout the weekend.

Visitors moved through three themed zones: Island Cove, Ocean Depths, and Research Reef. Each zone held a mix of facilitated and self-guided activities that introduced children to ocean ecosystems, maritime history, and marine technology. The activities were designed to build STEM skills like observation, prediction, and problem-solving, while giving kids room to work together and come up with their own ideas for the ocean's future.

The whole set was an ocean wonderland made from three months of collected recyclables, brought to life with lighting and projection mapping across the props and sculptures. Alongside the zones, we designed the entrance feature, thematic photo spot, event décor, and wayfinding signage, and ran the festival with our team of event staffers on the ground across all three days. Kids also learnt about coral restoration and why our reefs are worth protecting.
