What can a bottle cap, a balloon, some cardboard and a few feathers become?

On 30 and 31 May 2026, as part of Children's Season at the Asian Civilisations Museum, visitors dropped by to transform everyday materials into their very own DIY Chapteh and Rolling Racer.

Inspired by the long history of handmade toys and games, both activities invited participants to tinker, test and play. Some experimented with ways to make their chapteh fly better, while others adjusted their racers to see how far they could roll. Through making and experimenting, visitors discovered how even the smallest design changes could make a big difference.
